Trauma Processing

Trauma Processing

A significant part of trauma work is the ability to join in safe, meaningful relationships which can be difficult after traumatic experiences. Fairfax Integrative Therapy offers a therapy group for trauma processing in which adults who have done trauma work find additional, ongoing support. The support not only helps with the initial trauma but also processing the long term impacts, building back up trust and understanding, and building meaningful relationships. Through connection and the sharing of stories, attendees learn coping, grounding, and integration as it specifically relates to trauma. Moreover, they do this continued work in a safe environment amongst peers who understand and can relate.

Past participants have processed traumas including family of origin harm, abusive relationships, sexual abuse, and single incident traumas. Participants have found significant improvement in their PTSD symptoms, relationship satisfaction, and improved mood after participating in a group setting.

If you are interested to learn more or to see if this group would be a good supplement to your trauma work please contact Maureen at maureen@fairfaxintegrativetherapy.com. I would be happy to discuss your needs and goals and answer any questions that you have!
